68mm "Wide Mouth" Throttle Body
The 68mm "Wide mouth" throttle bodies are here and ready to add some needed air to your power plant. We have always had positive dyno gains with these throttle bodies on anything from stock to a maxed out stroker.
If you compliment this throttle body with one of our Ported 70mm intake manifolds, either in the stock casting form or the sheet metal plenum you will see huge gains in air flow and power potential.
Otherwise, to utilize these big throttle bodies, your stock intake manifold opening(62mm) will need to be machined to accept the oversized(68mm) opening.
Port Matched 70mm Jeep 4.0 Intake Manifolds(Stock Castings)
We brought them back, that's right we now carry Port matched Jeep 4.0 stock casting intake manifolds in all styles. If you looking for that added kick in the seat of the pants this is an easy upgrade. Whether it's a stock 4.0 or a big stroker these manifolds will add hp and tq across the board with killer throttle response.
All manifolds are cleaned, blasted, gasket matched to our Copper intake/exhaust manifold gasket. The runners have been greatly opened up from the very restrictive factory injector bung area and the throttle body openings have machined to 70mm if you decide to upgrade to an oversize throttle body.
You can simply choose your current year intake manifold or mix it up depending where you want your power delivered. Make sure when choosing a manifold to select either your current year or the matching power steering mount pattern/style.
How to choose your manifold: The early Straight Runner Manifolds make great mid-range and top end power(Stockers or Strokers with a slightly aggressive cam will benefit in the upper power band). The later Curved Intake Manifolds absolutely make more power off idle for you low end to mid-range power lovers with those long runners and big plenum(Small cu in or small cam lower rpm seekers this is your intake).
If you are retro-fitting an older straight runner to a newer curved style you will need to choose the "99-04 Curved w/o harness bosses.
**While supplies last we are offering our in house 60mm Taper Bore Throttle Bodies as an option, these work great on stock motor upgrades or low to mid rpm response.
***CORE REQUIRED, if you do not have a usable core of the same intake manifold as you purchased then you will have to choose and pay the associated core charge at checkout. If you do have a usable core then simply ship it back in the same box as delivered. You will be responsible for shipping charges.
****As of 01/09/24 we have added High Temp Cerakote coated intake manifolds to the options list. We have used this coating now for a few years on intakes, headers, etc with great success. This coating is good to 1,800 degrees and is currently available in Black and Silver.
Jeep 4.0 1/2" Billet Aluminum Intake Flanges
Build your own intake or have one built with these precision laser cut 1/2" Billet intake manifold flanges for the 4.0 Jeep cylinder head. These flanges match our Copper gaskets, you can build your intake runners to mount flush on the flange or inside for a smaller port size. The tall flange provides multiple mounting points for the factory or aftermarket harness/NOS or random items depending on your layout. If you choose not to utilize the tall flange, build your intake completely before you mill the top off so your intake will stay in place during the welding process. ***Our Stainless steel header flange with this intake flange are made with a slight interference fit so you can clearance either one to fit your application best. These are new surplus supply Felpro Exhaust/Intake manifold gaskets, chose from either the 7120/0630(Brown) or TUPY(Small exhaust/Gray).
Extreme Duty Lifetime .060" Annealed Copper Intake/Header Gasket
This all new custom designed Newcomer Racing exclusive "Copper" Intake/Header gasket answers the call for many issues related to the 4.0 based Jeep head. First off we list this as a lifetime gasket that can be reused time and time again with just a simple gasket cleaning and reapplication of the provided High Temp Silicone. Secondly it does not have to be trimmed like all stock gaskets to fit the stock or highly ported versions and it serves as a great porting template for our in house port designs. We offer three designs to fit your needs: Stock(87-99)/Edelbrock, TUPY(99-06), then our updated True round port design for our 1/2" Stainless Steel Custom Header flanges for your custom header builds. Simply choose your head style at the checkout. Our Stainless Steel ARP fastener/Winged Washer kit compliments these gaskets well! We tried to answer the call for intake and header flange fitment issues with an alternative solution that looks much cleaner and never rusts. This newly designed Winged Polished Stainless Steel washer can be rotated to fit multiple locations or reach the intake casting that the factory round washer could not quite reach before and has enough bore clearance to allow the washer to articulate on uneven surfaces. They are based off of a 99-06 model design with coil pack mounts and a machined front idle pulley if needed. The exhaust port arrangement has been moved to allow them to be used for all prior 4.0 head applications and header designs. You can use the TUPY or Stock style gasket, place your int/exh gasket order based on the header design.

Jeep 4.0 Cylinder Head 1/2" Alumium "Block-off Plate"
When you need to seal up an engine for storage, shipping, that backup race motor or built head thats finished but not quite ready to install then protect it with these Cylinder Head Block Plates. These are designed for any 4.0 Jeep Cylinder head including aftermarket versions.
Newcomer Racing Revised "True Round Port" & OEM Style "D Port" 1/2" 304 Stainless Steel Header Flange
We have both the upgraded OEM "D-port" style and the new revised round flanges. The revised header flange design is to be uses in conjunction with our matching "Newcomer" Copper Intake/Exhaust header/manifold gasket. We have redesigned the original Factory D-port into a true round port on all exhaust ports with a 1-3/4" slip in fit or 1-7/8" flush fit depending what primary tube size you prefer. We have purposely left material thick between the runners where the intake is seated, that being said you need to clean-up/grind the intake casting flaws to fit between the header flange properly. ***TIP***When fabricating your own header we suggest bolting the header flange down flat in as many places as possible on a head, welding everything up accordingly then check for straightness. DO NOT be scared of a curve in the flange(this is normal), once its all bolted down they will lay out great without leaks. We are kind of biased but we suggest our Stainless Steel Winged Washer Kit to finish off your custom build. Now go make something cool, send us the pics we want to see and share it!
American Racing Jeep 4.0 Headers
Finally a great solution for the dreaded Jeep 4.0 cracked exhaust headers. Not only that but they pack a big(1-5/8" or 1-3/4") with a long seamless primary tube with a rotational firing order that converges into a stretched out 6 in to 1 merge collector for that big deep sound that produces great overall power and DOES NOT CRACK. As soon as your header is built we will also send them out immediately. We will also be waiving the header shipping fees, you will only be charged shipping on our normal online items.
Once your order is placed there will be no cancellations, I repeat you can not cancel your order once it has been placed due to pre-ordering.

Jeep AMC 4.0 4.2 Stroker (87-06) Direct Replacement ATI SFI Approved Harmonic Six Rib Serpentine Balancer Kit
We had to address our own issues and the Jeep/AMC community with the effects of upper rpm crank shaft harmonics and safety concerns with the only available options being factory replacement dampers. If you race or spin your 4.0 or 4.2 based Jeep/AMC engines above 5,000 rpm's then this kit should be on your wish list. The difference between a factory balancer and our ATI balancer on the dyno is totally night and day, silky smooth!!! The factory balancers tend to have a harmonic(vibration) or a pitch change starting sometimes as low as 5,000 rpm's. Our new billet hub and modified ATI balancer setup eliminates everything and we've twisted these to 7,000 rpm's without the thought of an issue and they are 2lbs lighter. You will also have the option to bolt on another front mounted pulley(Three bolts/ARP stainless 12pt) for that supercharger or added accessory with a common three bolt pulley pattern. Your kit will include: Pre assembled six rib serpentine balancer/damper with tapered flat head stainless bolts, (3)12pt Stainless ARP bolts(Added pulley option), black plated billet hub keyed and indexed to the factory zero timing mark(No more guessing on timing with 360 degrees of timing marks on the damper), Crank bolt(Reuse your factory thick washer), extreme pressure assembly lube, blue and red locktite with full assembly instructions. ***This listing is for SERPENTINE BALANCERS ONLY, not v-belt balancers.
Jeep AMC 4.2 258 Stroker Long Snout "Black Anodized Billet Crank Spacer"
If you are running an early 258 (4.2) non-serpentine crank for your Stroker you will need to either cut the crank snout or simply run one of our new "Black Anodized Billet Crank Spacers". These are designed to work with stock and aftermarket harmonic balancers, reuse your stock "Thick" crank washer and make sure your stock bolt has enough thread engagement. ***Attention, the O.D(Outer Diameter) was based off a neutral size so they would fit most all balancers though some balancers will be tighter than others due to inconsistences of manufactures.
Billet Valve Cover/Roller Rocker Spacer Kit(Raw or Black out)
This is the most advanced and complete Billet Valve Cover/Roller Rocker Spacer to date. This spacer kit has a proprietary designed doweled/interlocking system to keep everything aligned for proper fitment, sealing and to squeeze in those big 1.6 or 1.7 Adjustable Roller Rocker Arms. This kit is designed retain the factory valve cover and its excellent breather/baffling system which most aftermarket covers DO NOT HAVE. Jeep AMC 4.0 4.2 Revised Billet Aluminum Thermostat Housing 1971-2006
Is it time for a new thermostat housing due to pitting, breakage, leaks, maybe after you add that new valve cover or spacer kit for those new roller rocker arms and now the thermostat housing hits or you just want the best damn housing on the market period then this one is for you. We have totally redesigned the AMC Jeep thermostat housing correctly with corrected outlet angles and solid billet aluminum construction that fits all years 1971-2006. We offer this housing in Raw or Black Anodized.
Jeep 4.0 Valve Cover Perimeter Grommet 7075 Billet Retainer Set(15 piece Raw or Black Out).
Jeep made a great simple sheet metal valve cover design that does exactly what it is supposed to do which is: Not leak, Control oil splatter, Proper PCV control without excess oil consumption and acceptable looks. Mopar stopped making these retainers over 10 years ago so we answered another call and made them look even better! Our new 7075 Aircraft Aluminum Retainers are super lightweight, fit even better than factory and can be polished to a mirror finish or choose the Black Out version. These will work directly with our valve cover spacer/stud/bolt kit and our billet thermostat housing to clear that added height. ***Note*** This set will include (15) Machined Billet Retainers in your choice of "Raw or Black Out"
Jeep/AMC 4.0/4.2 "Lightweight" Roller Rocker Arm Kits(1.60/1.70, Fixed & Adjustable)
If you want dyno proven hp & tq gains then here's one of the easiest ways to add 5hp/10ftlbs(1.60) or 10hp/15ftlbs(1.70). This is our next generation with even lighter weight, yet heavy duty, available in both 1.60 and 1.70 ratios fixed and "adjustable" roller rocker arm kits. These are 100% made in the USA and feature a heavy duty fully rollerized fulcrum and roller tip.
*3/8" .080" wall pushrods can only be used only on our competition heads unless you clearance your head accordingly. Possibly on fixed roller rocker arm kits and especially on adjustable kits you will have to space the valve cover up at least 1/2' for clearance from the added height of the over-sized rocker arms. We offer one of the best solutions for this issue with our 5/8" Billet Valve Cover Spacer Kit which is also listed on our site.
**Tech tip**
The factory rocker arm ratio is 1.60. Keep in mind when ordering your desired rocker arm kit that lift will be increased by going to a 1.70 ratio. Make sure your total lift value is not greater than your valve spring can handle(Coil bind).
Newcomer Racing Micro-polished 4.0/4.2 Cam and Lifter Kits Fits: 199/232/242/258 1964-2006
Newcomer Racing Cams come in many different custom grinds to suit your specific needs. We've ran every single one of these grinds and many more over the years to find the best of the best. We decided put together a list of our favorite cam grinds and offer them to the public. Picking your favorite cam can sometimes be a daunting process, so we have added descriptions to each cam profile to help aid in your decision.
Basic things to consider when choosing your cam:
- RPM range and where you want your powerband.
- Application(Daily Driver/Off-road/Racing/Multi-purpose)
- Weight
- Transmission(Manual or Auto)
- Gearing
- Engine Size
- Compression
- Induction/Exhaust(Stock or Modified)
- Exhaust Tone vs Engine Smoothness at idle.
***All of our AMC/Jeep cams are Hydraulic Flat Tappet(HFT) or Mechanical Flat Tappet(MFT), "Roller IS NOT AN OPTION". Lifter options are Hydraulic/Mechanical w/EDM hole. Our cam grind part numbers will indicate the recommended lifter style although you can run a mechanical/EDM lifter on any of our cams.
Some of our smaller grinds are No Springs Required(NSR) which means you can run your stock springs but always check for coil bind. Stock spring specs are normally around 50-60lbs on the seat and 200-220 range open and good for around .460" lift. For upgrade spring rates you will need to target 90-115 seat and 260-300 open pressures.
All of our cam spec numbers are based on a stock 1.6 rocker ratio. If you go to an upgraded 1.7 rocker ratio this will inherently raise your total lift values, so be aware when choosing for your springs max lift values. All cams and lifters are thoroughly inspected, cam journals are micro-polished, cleaned, oiled and ready for installation with assembly lube.
On any of our cam kits or anyone else's for that matter, do yourself a favor and degree your cam, this will save you dividends in the end, trust us! Every single stock motor can benefit greatly from just a proper custom computer tune, we have done it, so we recommend custom tuning to maximize all that work and money invested to increase your usable power.
When other companies say no tuning required to get your sale, don't believe it, yes it will run, but no it will not be nearly as efficient. From the smallest cam to the biggest, the more you do to enhance the efficiency, from induction, exhaust or the rotating assembly on your setup, the better it will perform. This multiples and becomes more important as you go up in cam size.
After deciding on your choice of camshaft, choice your add on's to complete your cam kit.
- NR-120-HFT-NSR(207/211 112 .459"/.461") Powerband Idle-5,200rpm's with a deep smooth idle quality, great stock cam replacement upgrade that works with a stock stall converter and all stock components that can make great small quick spooling turbo or supercharger cam. "Mr. Smooth"
- NR-121-HFT-NSR(212/216 110 .460"/.460") Powerband 1,200-5,500rpm's with a noticeable deep idle quality, the most aggressive cam we recommend using with stock springs. Works well with all stock vehicle components, with upgrades just keeps showing gains. "300HP"
- NR-122-HFT (213/217 112 .480"/.494") Powerband 1,300-5,600rpm's with a noticeable deep idle quality, this is the first step up the ladder that requires a spring with more lift capabilities. This makes a great entry level cam combo with our competition head for those who want to utilize added lift, with our 1.7 roller rockers you will net .510"/.525", works with stock stall converter. "Lightning".
- NR-123-HFT (214/211 114 .478"/.461") Powerband 1,200-5,400rpm's this is the weird cam profile of the bunch but don't let that fool you this little guy works awesome with a wide power band. This profile works well on any application and gives plenty of intake cylinder filling with the added duration. Stock short block or lower compression for low octane usage this is your cam. Works well with stock stall, increased lift springs required. "Odd Ball"
- NR-124-HFT (214/214 113 .478"/.478") Powerband 1,200-5,600rpm's this little guy is a great all around cam for naturally aspirated or forced induction combos. We have tested this one extensively in the "Mutt" 4.0 motor on the engine dyno(326hp/343tq on boost 550whp/600whp), on street, towing and racing. At a stock idle this cam will have a slight deep lope, increased spring rate and added clearance required. Works with stock stall converter. "Mutt"
- NR-125-HFT (218/224 112 .494"/.504") Powerband 1,500-5,900rpm's this one will have a slight aggressive lope at stock idle. Now your starting to get up in the cam area where induction and exhaust upgrades will start to become options to utilize the benefits of this cam. We have ran this cam profile for 15+ years and made killer power numbers in daily drivers to all out race rigs. This is a great starter in the aggressive cams yet yields great driving manners and yet you can twist that tach to 6,000 rpm's. We recommend both HFT and MFT lifters depending on your application. We machine our blocks for direct cam oiling for HFT and MFT setups. If you want to utilize direct cam oiling on your stock blocks and have adjustable roller rockers then you can select the MFT-EDM lifter with a direct feed hole to help with wear and higher rpm control issues. Still works with a stock stall but with a 2,000-2,400 stall you will benefit. "Old Faithful"
- NR-126-HFT (220/226 112 .528"/.536") Powerband 1,600-6,200rpm's now we are getting somewhere. This cam needs head, induction and exhaust upgrades to serve it well with more compression or forced induction this thing rips. We have made well over 400+hp with this cam with a built stroker. You can run a HFT but we recommend a MFT-EDM lifter to avoid wear and upper rpm control. This one lopes without a doubt and with a 1.7 rocker it pumps out .561"/.570" lift. "Bump and Grind"
- NR-127-HFT (226/232 110 .520"/.568") Powerband 2,000-6,200rpm's if you want to get noticed or hated this is your cam. With surprisingly great driving manners this cam with turn heads at the stop light with a healthy lopey idle quality. You can still run a HFT but we recommend MFT-EDM for longevity and upper rpm valve train control. This one will need all the induction upgrades along with a 2,500 stall, manuals let it rip! With a 1.7 roller rocker this one pumps out .552"/.604" lift so have your build with induction and exhaust upgrades on point and raise that idle to 750rpm's. "350HP"
- NR-128-HFT (228/228 113 .509"/.509") Powerband 1,800-6,200rpm's this mid sized powerhouse single pattern cam will make some noise, the good kind. An all around great performance cam for NA and boosted applications. Get your build on point to reap the benefits or simply throw the boost at it for an aggressive daily driver and set that idle to 750rpm's. "Boosted"
- NR-129-MFT (236/236 113 .540"/540"). Powerband 2,300-6,400rpm's dual purpose single pattern powerhouse. If you want that aggressive chop at idle with your NA build or forced induction, this one fits the bill. For forced induction cam this top of the ladder for a daily driver/street machine. "Maniac"
- NR-130-MFT (236/244 110 .540"/.563") Powerband 2,400-6,400rpm's now business is picking up. This can be a street/race cam with a very healthy lopey idle, no mistaking this bad boy is made to be seen. Stock idle will need to be raised to at least 800rpm's for a nice crisp pop out the tail pipe. With a 1.7 roller rocker this one hits .574"/.598" on lift, 2,600-3,000 stall required. "Street Terror"
- NR-131-MFT (244/252 108 .544"/.544") Powerband 2,800-6,600rpm's talk about a noise maker this one fits the bill, straight up race or hard core street machine if you dare. If you have never heard a built inline with a nasty cam trust us they sound amazing, similar to a BBC if using a 6 to 1 header. This one is made for naturally aspirated applications where compression will be your friend. 3,000 stall required, or sticks, grab a good clutch and give it hell. "McNasty"
- NR-132-MFT (264/272 106 .594"/.598") Powerband 3,400-7,200rpm's all out race only here unless you want to be a total badass on the street. This one needs compression, flow and some great parts so this thing can spin to 7,000+rpm's. A Jeep/AMC motor changes tones around 6,000 rpm's, the kinda tone that makes the hair stand up on your neck. Well, this one goes way past that point so hold on to your seat. With all the supporting mods this cam will make 500hp NA and make people cringe at the wicked snap crackle pop sound. Make sure you run a fully counter weighted crank at these rpm's. "Widow Maker"
***Tech tip for customers wanting to go with a more aggressive camshaft. To run a larger style camshaft that will turn over 5,500 rpm's you will absolutely need a spring upgrade and do not forget about your harmonic balancer. Our ATI balancer will become a key component to achieve harmonic control of your in-liner. If you do not address this area it will absolutely create problems in trying to run higher rpm's.
Stainless Steel HD Engine Lift Bracket w/SS Clevis and 16"x 1/2" drop chains
This is our in house designed engine lift bracket for those big, long, heavy engines that need the strength and the length but not to scratch up your new or old motor. We use these on everything and they work great for any platform from an Inline four, monster Cummins or Big block V8's. They are made from 1/2" 304 Stainless Steel with SS Clevis's, 3/8' chains and multiple hook placements(Center works best, normally).
